Company Auditions

Company Auditions for the 2022-23 Season are June 18.

Storm Dance Alliance invites you to come tryout for one of our award winning dance competition companies.

Storm has been voted a top 10 dance studio in the northwest and a multiple national’s recipient of Studio of the Year, Elite Studio and Highest Scoring Studio awards winner. Our Dance Companies train with top choreographers and dancers from around the country. competing in several competitions during the season, plus a nationals*.

Attire: Dress to Stand Out! Females should wear form fitting dance attire and hair pulled back out of your face. Bring Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical Shoes to audition.

Auditions will be held at Storm Dance Alliance on June 18:

• Times are TBD: Ages 8 and Under (Mini, Intensity and Precision Companies)
• Times are TBD: Ages 9-11 (Intensity and Precision Companies)
• Times are TBD: 12 and Up (Intensity and Precision Companies)

Hip Hop Only Auditions (Intensity Lighting and Precision Lighting Companies)

Axel Jump, Basic Split Leap, Battement, Center Leap, Extension (Developpe), Fan Kick, Firebird, Floor Calypso, Heel Stretch, Illusion, Needle Turn/Reverse Needle Turn, Penché, Pirouette(s), Ring Jump, Scorpion/Back Needle, Second Turns, Skater Turn, Spliets, Straddle Jump, Toe Rise, Turning Center Leap

The harder the skills you can execute properly, the higher your level placement will most likely be.

If you have any additional skills not listed aboive (including acro) you are welcome to put it into your audition piece

Precision Pre-Professional Company

Our Precision Pre-Professional Company trains with top choreographers and dancers from around the country. They compete at 5-6 competitions during the season, plus a nationals. Our team practices 3-4 days a week beginning in September on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Precision Pre-Professional dancers will participate in our company intensives in early August with guest choreography sessions the following weeks.

Intensity Company

Intensity Company is our outstanding early competition program, for ages 4-18 years old, to prepare promising young dancers for competition and technical excellence. Based on a similar format to our current Pre-Professional competition team, dancers will get to experience what it is like to be a competitive dancer and see the competition world first hand. Because this program is only a two day per week commitment, it is designed to ease your child into the company at a financial and time commitment level that is feasible for busy families, while remaining a fun and challenging environment for them to learn and grow. Intensity dancers will participate in our company intensives in early August with guest choreography sessions the following weeks.

Mini Company

Our Lightning Hip Hop Only Team, for dancers ages 4-18, will get the opportunity to work with top hip hop choreographers from around the country. Lightning Hip Hop dancers will participate in our company intensives in early August with guest choreography sessions the following weeks.

There will be a half day intensive.

Lightning Hip Hop Team

For the tiny dancer brand new to the competition world! This low commitment company is perfect for young dancers who want to try dancing competitively without a lot of time commitment. Dancers participating in Mini Co. will practice on Monday and Tuesdays. They will perform 4 times throughout the season in Jazz and with our Intensity Company in a Production number. Ages 4-6
